Twelve things to do on Phu Quoc
Phu Quoc is an island off the southwest coast of Vietnam. The national tourism organization lists beaches, fishing villages, pepper plantations and fish sauce production among its attractions. The list below is our own selection, not a ranking by any authority. It mixes beaches that cost nothing to walk on with ticketed attractions, and it gives 2026 prices wherever an operator has published them.
Plan by area. Sunset Town, the cable car and the An Thoi boat harbor are in the south. Long Beach and Ong Lang lie on the west coast. The Vinpearl Safari sits in the Bai Dai and Ganh Dau area in the north-west. Parks, the cable car, Kiss Bridge and the show each sell their own tickets.

Beaches and the cable car (1 to 5)
Three beaches for free time, then the ride to Hon Thom.
1. Sao Beach
The national tourism organization distinguishes public and private areas at Sao Beach and mentions restaurants on the sand. Whether a stretch is open to everyone or belongs to a resort, and what sunbeds or parking cost, differs by spot, so ask before you settle in.
All eight beaches โ2. Long Beach at sunset
Long Beach runs along the west coast and is described by the national tourism organization as a sunset destination with cafรฉs and bars. Opening hours belong to each cafรฉ, not to the beach itself.
Beach guide โ3. Ong Lang
North of Duong Dong, Ong Lang is a string of sandy bays with rocky sections in between. It is not one continuous strip of sand, so check the access point before you carry a beach bag down.
4. The Hon Thom cable car
The cable car links An Thoi and Sunset Town with Hon Thom island and takes about 15 minutes each way. The operator's Tet 2026 list shows VND 850,000 for adults return, VND 700,000 for children 1.00 to 1.40 m tall and free entry under 1.00 m. Hours differ between operator sources, so check on the day.
Cable car tickets and times โ5. Aquatopia
Aquatopia is the water park on Hon Thom. In the package ticket described above, entry is included together with Exotica. Ask at the gate about slide hours, height limits and locker fees before you pay for extras.

Tickets are sold at the counters near the cable car station, at the bridge entrances and online. Some combination tickets include the bridge, so compare before buying twice.
Sunset Town guide โ7. Kiss of the Sea
The show usually starts at 21:00 daily, according to the operator's July 2026 guide. A ticket costs VND 950,000, and children under 1.00 m are free (October 2026). Check the schedule before you go, as weather can affect a performance. Symphony of the Sea, season 3, is announced to start on 10 November 2026 and is a separate show.

On the water and in the parks (8 to 10)
Full-day options with their own tickets.
8. A boat trip to the An Thoi islands
Snorkeling and island-hopping trips head for the southern An Thoi archipelago, and Fingernail Island is one named stop. As an example, one local operator lists USD 32 for guests aged 10 and over and USD 22 for ages 4 to 9 on a day trip with lunch and snorkel gear (October 2026). Since a boat accident in July 2026, the provincial transport authority requires passengers to wear life jackets before the boat leaves.
Snorkeling guide โ9. VinWonders
The theme park opens from 09:00 to 19:30 daily according to the operator, with water and adventure zones that close earlier. Adults and children from 140 cm pay VND 1,050,000 and children 100 to under 140 cm pay VND 800,000 (2026 operator table). Another operator article shows lower figures and a 10:00 start, so check the current price.
VinWonders guide โ10. Vinpearl Safari
The safari park has its own ticket, listed from VND 950,000 for adults and VND 710,000 for children 100 to under 140 cm. A January 2026 notice shows 850,000 and 650,000, so confirm which applies. Day opening is given as 08:30 or 09:00 until 16:00. Night Safari runs on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 19:40 to 21:30 and is a separate ticket.
Safari ticket details โIsland life (11 and 12)
Two traditional industries, described by the national tourism organization.
11. Fish sauce production
Fish sauce is one of the island's best-known products, and visits to production sites are part of how the national tourism organization presents Phu Quoc. Opening times, entry and tour times differ by business, so confirm them before you drive out.
12. Pepper plantations
Pepper plantations are the other classic stop on a trip through the interior. Check each plantation's hours and any entry fee first, and treat the farms as working land.
What about the night market?
The Duong Dong night market is not one of the twelve because its status is unclear. The operator contract for the Bach Dang market ended on 31 December 2025, and traders were allowed to keep selling through Tet. Reports from October 2026 disagree: one describes a smaller market at 54 Nguyen Trai from about 17:00 to 23:30, another still places it on Bach Dang.
Read the current picture on our night market page. Sunset Town also has the separate VUI-Fest Bazaar, open daily from 16:00 to 24:00 according to the operator (October 2026), with food, drinks and souvenirs.

Things to do in Phu Quoc: frequently asked questions
Which attractions need a ticket?
The cable car, Aquatopia, Kiss Bridge, Kiss of the Sea, VinWonders and the Safari each sell their own tickets, and combination tickets exist. Some beach areas are public and others private, so ask about sunbeds and parking where you stop.
When is the best time to visit?
The national tourism organization recommends November to April. Monthly averages from the Japan Meteorological Agency show far less rain in January (31 mm) and February (20.6 mm) than in September (542 mm). See our weather page.
Is the night market still open?
It is in flux. Contracts for the old Bach Dang site ended at the end of 2025, and October 2026 reports describe different locations. Check before you go.
Do I need a visa?
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs list (published June 2025), foreigners flying to Phu Quoc may stay up to 30 days without a visa. German citizens can also stay 45 days visa-free across Vietnam since 15 March 2025. Rules depend on your passport and route, so check before you travel.
Are these the best things to do?
They are our independent selection. No authority ranks the island's attractions, and this site is not run by a tourism authority, Sun World, VinWonders or a tour operator.
